New Email Address at Yahoo!

I like to use Yahoo for my junk mail. gotwiki42[at]yahoo.com

Kazango Jazz

Website for Tom O'Hara's band Kazango Jazz. The site has slick graphics and a neat flash based music player. The site was designed by Jackson D. Carson of Wave Length Media and band member of Kazango Jazz. Jackson is making use of 'Flash MP3 Palyer 2.0' developed by Jeroen Wijering. Jeroen releases his software under a creative commons license. In addition to his MP3 player, Jeroen has an interesting flash application called 'What's Up' that actively scans RSS feeds and then displays them on a map of the world.

Jamendo

Music to my ears. On jamendo, the artists distribute their music under Creative Commons licenses. In a nutshell, they allow you to download, remix and share their music freely. It's a "Some rights reserved" agreement, perfectly suited for the new century. http://www.jamendo.com I love the first song from Silence - L'autre endroit

Bit Torrent

Jamendo uses Bit Torrent P2P model for music distribution. "Freedom of the press is limited to those who own one" -- journalist A.J. Liebling. Bit Torrent puts the word free back in freedom. It's technology allows anyone with large files to get them distributed via cooperative peer to peer networking. No more huge distribution costs. The Bit Torrent software is available for FREE for just about every computer system.

Copyleft is it Right?

Copyright is such a mess when it somes to rights of the artist and his willingness to share his work with the world. There is now atleast two Internet based inititives that are addressing this problem: 'Creative Commons' and 'Free Art License'
